high-end cars have more automation features. that the main differences between other budget cars. so that spects divided into ADAS and autonomous Levels. also called Level-4 & and Level-5.
What is Level-4 & Level-5 Cars?
Level - 4 vs Level - 5?
Level-4 Cars:
High Automation: Level 4 represents a high level of automation in autonomous driving.level 4 also called tier - 4 car's
Limited Operational Design Domain (ODD): Level-4 vehicles can operate autonomously within specific conditions or a defined geographical area (ODD). They are designed for specific use cases, such as urban environments, highways, or geofenced areas.
No Human Intervention Required in ODD: Within their designated operational domain, Level-4 cars do not require human intervention. The vehicle can handle all driving tasks autonomously.
Possible Human Intervention Outside ODD: Outside the defined operational domain, human intervention may be required. The system might prompt the driver to take control or safely come to a stop if it encounters situations it cannot handle.
Level-5 Cars:
Full Automation: Level 5 represents the highest level of automation in autonomous driving.
No ODD Limitations: Level-5 vehicles are designed to operate autonomously in all driving scenarios and environments, without limitations. They can handle complex and varied situations encountered in everyday driving.
No Human Intervention Required: Unlike Level-4, Level-5 cars do not require human intervention at any point during the journey. The vehicle is capable of handling all driving tasks under all conditions.
No Steering Wheel or Driver Controls: Level-5 vehicles, in the idealized concept, might not have a traditional steering wheel or driver controls, as there is no expectation for the driver to take over.
Differentiation: The key difference lies in the operational limitations. Level-4 cars are designed for specific operational domains, and while highly autonomous within those domains, they may require human intervention outside those areas. Level-5 cars, on the other hand, have no operational limitations and can handle all driving scenarios without human intervention.
Human Intervention: Level-4 may require human intervention in certain circumstances, while Level-5 is designed to operate entirely without human intervention.
Technological Challenge: Achieving Level-5 autonomy is considered a more complex technological challenge because it requires addressing the entire spectrum of driving scenarios and conditions encountered in the real world.
Some people think about High- END (or) Luxury cars also known as Level-4; Nope.
Luxury cars are known for offering superior comfort, advanced technology, high-performance capabilities, and often exclusive design elements. They are not specifically classified based on autonomous driving levels.
Some Doubts about Car Manufacturing Companies:
1- why don't self-driving companies directly produce Level - 5 (why zoox only can do)
Many companies adopt an incremental approach to autonomous driving, gradually increasing automation levels. They start with systems like advanced driver assistance (Level 2) and conditional automation (Level 3), learning from real-world scenarios and improving technology iteratively before attempting Level-5 autonomy. This approach allows for the refinement of technology, addressing challenges step by step.
Maybe in the future, Every Cars Company produce Fully Autonomous Vehicles
